MindTouch Desktop Connector for Microsoft Windows™ makes organizing and uploading file attachments drag-and-drop easy. Users can quickly and easily connect to MindTouch Deki from Microsoft Windows™ and organize the wiki hierarchy, create new pages, and upload or download files with drag-and-drop ease.

Users can drag-and-drop an entire directory structure to MindTouch Deki and the heirarchy of the directory structure will be automatically created as wiki pages. The files beceome page-level attachments. File contents and file names are automatically indexed by the built-in enteprise search engine used by MindTouch Deki.

The MindTouch Desktop Connector is built on the robust REST-based API of MindTouch Deki. This tool is free and open source. This Connector is compatible with the MindTouch shared and managed hosting services.

Instructions for Installing and Using the Connector

1. Download the Desktop Connector
2. Double click the file after it has downloaded 
3. Follow the steps to install the Connector
4. Once the connector has been installed Start it by going to it in your Program menu by going to Start -> Programs-> MindTouch
5. Once it starts you need to configure it to your wiki
   • Click Settings
   • Click Manage Settings

• Click Add

• Fill in the settings for your wiki
  • Display Name - The name that you want to reference your wiki as in the Settings Box for the Connector
  • MindTouch Deki Address - The url for your wiki ** need to have the full url including http://
  • Username - The username that you want attachments to be uploaded under
  • Password -  The password for the username that you want attachments to be uploaded under

• Click Test Connection, this will verify that you entered the information accurately
• Once connection is verified hit OK
• Now go up to Settings and select the Display Name of the wiki that you want to connect to
• Now that your site is connected you can drag and drop files to and from your wiki. Example of the Desktop Connector linked to http://wiki.mindtouch.com
