ChaseSagum.com » MindTouch Open Source Wiki
every small business owner to have his/her own custom Wiki for the business to document the processes and procedures of the business. Also to allow collaboration of those within the company to help make the business progressively better. I have always used MediaWiki as a solution but i’m looking for a more user friendly solution. That’s why MindTouch and their DekiWiki might be the answer.

This gentleman is absolutely correct. Wikis are an invaluable tool for small and medium sized businesses (SMBs). Especially if they plan to grow. Wikis make ramping up new people dramatically easier. Also, it helps SMBs (and companies of all sizes) to fully utilize precious resources by enabling the reuse of project deliverables or content. When we began developing MindTouch Deki Wiki, initially, it was with the SMB in mind. We’ve made it very easy to install by packaging as a VMware certified image. This too was directly intended for the SMB. However, we’ve seen VMware solidly penetrate the enterprise space. Don’t get me wrong though. Deki Wiki is a very robust enterprise application significantly superior to other commonly cited “enterprise wikis” . Both in scalability and feature set. Features like enterprise search, file versioning, desktop tools, speak to this. Also our recent release of our new architecture (in the “Hayes” release) that allows external applications to be used to extend the platform via web-services and the release of a complete REST API is clearly more intended for our many large enterprise customers that are developing on top Deki Wiki.

Anyway, here’s some link love for your blog Chase. :-) Thanks for considering Deki Wiki. I trust you were one of the more than 700 installs we’re seeing today.
