If your organization is using Lotus Notes, you probably have to manage a lot of documents stored in Lotus Notes near to your emails and your contacts. Some shared database are often used as a documentation store. Everyone can access it and some people can change it. If it is the case, you are probably facing some of the usual problems of that solution
- No full text search in file attached to documents (.doc, .ppt, .pdf, …)
- Notes Client needed to read documentation.
- Hard to monitor changes in the documentation.
- No answer to questions like “Who changed what and when?”
- …
This is why we’ve just release the ASK Lotus Notes 2 Dekiwiki Converter 1.1 that can crawl a Lotus Notes Database and copy all it’s content into Deki pages.
Main features:
- Convert text formatting : fonts, colors, text attributes(bold, italic, …).
- Convert Numbered/Bullets Lists.
- Convert Tables
- Convert images and attachments.
- Convert links to attachments and link to other Notes.
- Pages can be created in an hierarchical way, taking over one of the existing Notes View structure.
- Tags can be created automatically using Notes Item value (Useful to take over another Notes View)
And there is more:
- Once your Lotus Notes database documentation is converted to MindTouch Deki, you can benefit of all the MindTouch Deki features!
The ASK Lotus Notes 2 Dekiwiki Converter is licensed as Free Software (GPL) and can be downloaded freely from Sourceforge
We converted 2 databases to show you the output of the conversions. These samples can be found here. You can see nearly 4,500 pages to give you an idea.
The application is really easy to use
